Ishita Rathi is a top IAS officer. She got All India Rank 8 in UPSC 2021. This news came out on May 30, 2022, when the final results were out. 

Early Life 

Ishita Rathi was born on October 19, 1994. She came from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. Her family later moved to Delhi. Her father works as an assistant sub-inspector in Delhi Police. Her mother is a head constable. They gave her full support. Ishita grew up in a simple home. She saw hard work every day from her parents. This made her strong. She dreamed big from a young age. Ishita went to DAV Public School in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. She did very well there. She scored 94% in class 10. In class 12, she got 97%. Everyone praised her marks. School life was fun for her. She liked studies a lot. Friends say she was always top in class. 

Education 

After school, Ishita joined Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi. It is part of Delhi University. She took B.A. Honors in Economics. She loved this subject. Classes were tough but she managed well. College helped her think deep. She made good friends there. Then, she went for higher studies. Ishita did M.A. in Economics from Madras School of Economics. It is in Chennai. UPSC Journey 

Ishita wanted to be an IAS officer. She knew UPSC is very hard. Many try but few win. She started prep after college. No coaching for her. She did self-study. This saved money for her family. She used books and internet. YouTube helped a lot. She watched topper talks. 

Her first try was in 2019. She did not clear mains. It hurt her. But she did not stop. Second try in 2020. Again, no success. She felt sad. Family said keep going. Ishita learned from mistakes. She changed her plan. Third try in 2021. This time she won big. Rank 8 all over India. 

Preparation Secret 

Ishita woke up early. Morning was best for study. She set goals each day. Not by hours. Some days 10 hours. Some less. She took breaks. Newspapers were key. She read The Hindu daily. For current affairs, she used Yojana magazine. Polity from Laxmikanth book. History from old NCERT. Economics was her optional subject. She made own notes. No teacher needed. She saw past papers. Vibhas Jha notes helped a bit. Self-belief was big. She stayed with positive people. Health mattered. She ate well. Walked sometimes. Patience was her power. UPSC needs time. 

Interview was key. She got good marks there. Board asked about her background. She spoke with confidence. Total score was high. She beat many. No coaching made her special. Many girls look up to her now. 

Family Support 

Her parents are proud. Father worked hard in police. Mother too. They lived simple life in Delhi. No big money for coaching. Ishita saw this. It pushed her. Brother and sister cheered her. Home was full of books. Family talks were about dreams. They celebrated her rank with sweets. Ishita is not married. She is single. Focus on career now. Family lives in Delhi. She visits them often. Training And Job 

After rank, she joined IAS training. Batch 2022. Cadre is AGMUT. This means Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram, Union Territories. She trained in Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy, Mussoorie. Learned rules and skills. Now she is Sub-Collector in Puducherry. Handles revenue work. Also Sub-Divisional Magistrate in North area.  Her job is busy. She solves people problems. Visits villages. Listens to complaints. Works on files late. Young age but big post. People like her. She helps poor fast.
